Matthew 5:1-12
1. Citizens of the Kingdom: Introduction

We begin a new series in the Sermon on the Mount, the often most heard yet least understood and least obeyed words by Jesus. Through this sermon we get to learn what a citizen of the Kingdom of God is like. Many people take the Sermon on the Mount as a list of things we need to keep in order to enter heaven or be a "good Christian," but this is not a way for us to be saved. This is what happens to those who are saved. In this introductory sermon to the series, pastor David goes through the Setting, the Subject, the Structure, and the "So-what" of the Sermon on the Mount and the beatitudes. Learn the true meaning of what it means to be "blessed" and find joy and hope in the Sermon on the Mount.
